The official name “Bichon Frize” was given to the breed by the International Cynological Association in 1933.
A year later, general standards for the appearance of French lapdogs were formulated.
As for the distribution of the breed, the favorites of Francis I reached the USA only in the 50s of the last century, and in England, they began to breed Bichons only in the mid-70s.
