Bichon Frize is a small decorative dog, a striking distinctive feature of which is its luxurious white coat. A properly done haircut gives it the look of a plush toy and evokes a feeling of tenderness in everyone who watches an active and cheerful animal. Caring for a luxurious fur coat is painstaking, and it is not facilitated by the rather stubborn nature of the dog, so the future owner needs to be patient in order to properly educate and raise a representative of this breed.
The distant ancestors of the Bichon Frize were small white dogs, which in turn were the descendants of water barbets.

Curly pussies inhabited the coast and islands of the Mediterranean Sea and very successfully hunted rats, for which they were often put on ships.

The first name of the breed sounded like “bar-bichon”. “Bar”, short for “barbet”, and “bichon” in French means “velvet pillow”.
