In the middle of the 17th century, Catholics organized a secret group called the Order of the Pug. However, the Pope forbade Catholics from joining the Freemasons, so the group did not last long.
Since the pug is a brachycephalic breed, this means that their faces and noses are shorter than those of other dogs. This often causes some problems with breathing, swimming, and strenuous exercise.
Pugs are friendly towards family members, strangers, and other animals.
