We received an urgent call about a sick dog living in a trash pile.
I was told that Miley had been surviving here for many months.
We arrived at the Veterinary Care Center.
Miley suffered from mange, parasites, bacterial infections and malnutrition. She needed medicated baths and treatment for all her wounds.
Miley was pretty shut down. Her body needed time to heal.
But on day three, she shared a kiss with me.
A couple of weeks later she met Frankie. He was rescued from a drain pipe and was so scared of everything. Miley took Frankie under her wing.
And they quickly became really good friends.
Miley patiently waited for months for her forever home. More than 500 adoption applications later, we all shed tears of joy as Toni Bua welcomed Miley Home.
