The most famous representative of the breed was a dog named Smokey.
Together with the owner, American corporal William Wynnu, she took part in the battles during the Second World War.
Smokey was awarded 8 Stars for Service, served as a “medicinal dog” and has repeatedly saved the lives of the military.
