Cane Corso is a protective dog. You can be calm with her – she will go to the end, protecting those she loves. This dog chooses only one owner for its entire life, and it will be very difficult for it to survive if you give it up. The dog will not survive the betrayal and may die.
The word “cane,” of course, is Latin for dog and derives from the word “canis.” The word “corso” may come from “cohors,” meaning bodyguard, or from “corsus,” an old Italian word meaning sturdy or robust.
A man named Michael Sottile imported the first Corso litter to the United States in 1988, followed by a second litter in 1989.
In 1993, the International Cane Corso Association was created. In the end, the breed club gained recognition from the American Kennel Club, which was granted in 2010.
