President Lyndon Johnson kept two Beagles named ‘Him’ and ‘Her’ at the White House during his presidency. He was frequently photographed while walking around and playing with the dogs.
With the rise of hybrid dogs, the Beagle makes a popular parent. Their good health and sensibly sized nose make them good for out-crossing with flat-faced breeds.
As cute as these animals are, they can smell strong. Ironically, since they are scent hounds themselves, in fact, beagles produce their own very distinct dog scent, and this is not the most pleasant scent.
