It is difficult to find a more livable and reasonable creature than the Leonberger. This shaggy good-natured person is perfectly aware of his own physical capabilities, but he does not even think of testing them on the owner or his family members. At the same time, he is not cowardly and, if necessary, knows how to “bark” so that the desire to test the patience of the animal disappears completely.
The Leonberger is relatively easy to learn, but agility and other disciplines that hone obedience are not for them. At the same time, in drafting, animals can become serious competitors for other large dogs.
The breed is famous for its good nature and sincere love for children, but this applies only to adults.
Puppies are not so quick-witted and in games can be guided by the principles of a dog pack and bite children.
