English Bulldogs are named for their use for bull-baiting; they appeared in the British Isles around the 13th century. One of the few references to this sport dates back to 1209 and tells of dogs belonging to a butcher who drove a bull through the English city of Stamford. The earl liked this chase so much in the city that he made bull-baiting a sport on his territory.
Today English Bulldogs are excellent pets. According to the AKC classification, this breed is listed simply as a Bulldog.
English Bulldogs have a gentle disposition. They are reliable and predictable, make great pets, and are loved by most kids. This breed is human-oriented, so they actively solicit people’s attention.
Plus they are perfect weirdos! Let’s make sure of this by looking at the photo!
