The Afghan Hound is an ancient member of the greyhound family, bred thousands of years ago by nomads in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India.
As a hunting breed, Afghan Hounds are determined, independent, uncommunicative, and confident dogs. In one controversial study, the Afghan Hound is described as an unusually brave dog, but sometimes shy, moody, but sometimes calm and lazy, noble but playful.
