The Entlebucher Mountain Dog has a thick warm undercoat, hidden under a layer of short, close-fitting top coat.
In healthy individuals, the coat looks sleek and smooth, but a slight waviness of the hair around the withers is acceptable.
The breed has a classic tricolor color with a predominant proportion of black pigment and reddish-brown as well as white spots.
