Dalmatians are famous for being firehouse dogs. This is because Dalmatians used to serve as coaching dogs for horse-drawn fire coaches.
With the invention of fire trucks, the Dalmatians weren’t really needed anymore. But many firehouses still keep Dalmatians as mascots.
