The peak of popularity of the Mountain Dogs came in the 80s of the 20th century. Swiss Shepherd Dogs have become popular with breeders around the world.
The reference height for males is 64-70 cm at the withers, for bitches – 58-66 cm. The average weight of berns is in the range of 39-50 kg for males, 36-48 kg for bitches.
The coat of the Berns is shiny, long and straight, in places small “waves” are acceptable.
