The Hungarian vizsla evokes a feeling of nostalgia for those times when the aristocratic society paid special attention to hunting accompanied by graceful and lean dogs. The animals helped to find wounded prey thanks to their keen sense of smell and keen eyesight. Now hunting grounds exist only on the pages of books, but Hungarian vizsla continues to be popular. A neat yet muscular physique, smooth amber hair and a meaningful look – these dogs look like statues brought to life by a skilled craftsman. Vishay is loyal and good-natured, not hostile to strangers, but they will stand up to protect the owner without hesitation.
Created in Hungary to work as a pointer and retriever, the Vizsla dog breed has an aristocratic bearing. All they really want, though, is to be loved.
This breed is often described as the “Velcro Vizsla.” Most dogs are affectionate, but this medium-size hunting dog is especially attached to his people.
His Velcro nature has to do with his past: the Vizsla was developed in Hungary to be both a pointer and retriever who would work close to the hunter, never ranging too far away.
