The Shiba Inu is the most popular and smallest of the six native Japanese breeds. Translated from Japanese – “small dog”. They are curious and intelligent animals that feel great in city apartments, have a positive trait – cleanliness.
The exact date on which Shiba Inu was first bred is not known, but it is believed that they could date back as far as 300 BC.
Their initial purpose was to hunt in the mountainous regions of Japan and they have hunted for larger animals.
However, most Shiba Inu are now kept as companion dogs.
