She is characterized by endurance, the ability to overcome great distances, vigilance, lack of aggression.
The breed club was founded in England in 1870 and in the USA in 1885. The first breed standard was formed in 1881, but has been revised many times. The last revision was made in 1964.
Today, the existence of the breed is known in all corners of the earth. This is largely due to the world famous TV series “Lassie”, which was released in screens in 1950.
