Although it’s hard to pin down their history to one single person, lots of sources suggest the main player in their creation was the 1st Baron Tweedmouth, Dudley Marjoribanks.
Lord Tweedmouth was Scottish, and that’s where the first Goldens came about. Bred from several different sporting dogs to achieve an all-round great land and water retriever.
