Bloodhounds slobber and shed. Keep baby wipes or hand towels on hand throughout the house, and brush them weekly or more often if needed.
The first actual reference to the breed by that name was in a poem by Sir Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford, titled William of Palerne (1350).
These early hounds were known as St. Hubert, were bred by the monks of the Abbey of St. Hubert, and they were the ancestors of modern bloodhounds.
