Spending a sunny day with the dog on the beach is a dream for many dog owners. Many people wouldn’t go on vacation without a dog. Most vacationers are particularly drawn to the water. The North and Baltic Seas are among the most popular with German holidaymakers. A beach holiday is perfect for dog owners. You can lie on the beach yourself while the dog lets off steam with new playmates. In order to be optimally prepared for a day at the beach, we have put together a few tips for you.
Drink, drink, drink

If you move a lot, you should also drink a lot. Especially on hot beach days. This not only applies to us, but also to our furry friends. Some dogs tend to drink saltwater. You should stop that as a matter of urgency. You should also make sure that the water is not too cold! On very hot days, drinking water that is too cold can lead to a circulatory collapse.
It is best to have a travel bowl with you, into which you can pour fresh water as required. A little tip: simply fill the water in a thermos flask. That way it doesn’t heat up.
Dry once please

Does your dog not care if it’s a few degrees colder? Does he still run into the water? On days like this, it pays to have a towel with you. Especially very slim dogs with little fur freeze quickly and long-haired dogs need a long time until their fur is dry again.
Attention sunbathers on the beach!

You might like to lie in the sun for a long time, but that’s not necessarily the right thing for your furry friends. A shady spot is needed. A beach shell or parasol is perfect for this. Your dog can decide for himself whether he wants to lie in the sun or prefer a shady spot!
Stay cool baby
A cooling mat offers your dog an additional opportunity to cool down at any time. You do not need an additional power connection. In order for the gel inside to cool down again, your dog has to get off the mat.
Ready, Set, Go

A day at the beach can get boring. Especially for our four-legged friends. So that your dog does not steal the toys from the children, you should definitely have toys with you. In the best case, it floats in the water and thus provides even more fun.
Would you like a small snack in between?
You’re not the only one who likes to snack between meals. Playing in the sand and in the water also makes our dogs hungry. It doesn’t hurt if you also have a small snack with you for your dog. Attention: After that, your dog should allow itself a little breather and not jump straight back into the water.
Be prepared for anything

Unfortunately, not every beach is clean. So it can happen that there is a shard or other sharp-edged objects in the sand somewhere. Your dog may get injured. In this case it is helpful to have a small first aid kit with you. Of course, it can happen to you too. Either way, you should be prepared for anything.
All in one sack

So that you can take everything with you, you need a very large bag. You can not only store your things in there but also those for your dog. A cool bag will help you keep all food and drinks fresh and cool.
