Human inhumanity to fur baby
When one family in the German city of Ahlen couldn’t settle their obligations to the city, the city official settled on a sensational choice: to sell the family fur baby on eBay.
The city defended their choice to sell the pug, Edda, on the site for €750 ($850) after the family neglected to pay obligations to the city, including a dog duty.
German news agency dpa quoted Dirk Schlebes, Ahlen’s treasurer, as saying the seizure was legal and only happened after other nonessential family belongings had been taken.
